About

I recently launched a small personal side project — the Momoyu Timer. It’s super simple: it tracks how much time you spend on non-primary apps each day, calculates what portion of your total device uptime that takes up, and displays it as a single number in your macOS menu bar.

I’ve tried a lot of time-tracking tools before, but most prioritize strict efficiency management: they have precise stats but feel like a burden to use. So I wanted to make something lighter with a playful, laid-back vibe. Its tracking logic is intentionally lenient, and it doesn’t aim for 100% accuracy. It’s mostly to help you notice how your day is going, lets you have a laugh, and gives you a gentle nudge to stay focused.

  • Clear at a glance in the menu bar, no intrusive interruptions
  • All data is stored locally (only optional daily active user data for the app itself is sent)
  • Supports sharing your daily "slacking report" with friends for mutual encouragement (or playful teasing)
