From Recording to Writing

Most conventional note apps lack dedicated recording features, forcing users to manually copy-paste content to take notes, which greatly reduces recording efficiency. Organizing scattered recorded content also takes a huge amount of extra effort.

NoteGen is split into two pages: Recording and Writing, with the following relationship:

• Recordings can be organized into notes and transferred to the Writing page for in-depth editing.
• You can insert existing recordings at any time while writing.

Recording

The recording feature works like an AI chatbot, but you can link it to your existing recorded content when chatting. Switch to organization mode to turn your recordings into readable, structured notes.

The following auxiliary features help you record better:

• Tags: Used to distinguish different recording scenarios.
• Masks: Supports custom prompts for precise control over your AI assistant.
• Clipboard Assistant: Automatically detects text or images in your clipboard and adds them to your recording list.

Writing

Writing is split into two parts: a File Manager and a Markdown Editor.

File Manager

• Supports managing local Markdown files and synced files from GitHub.
• Supports unlimited-level directory structures.
• Supports multiple sorting methods.

Markdown Editor

• Supports three preview modes: WYSIWYG, instant rendering, and split-screen preview.
• Supports version control to roll back to historical records.
• Supports AI assistance for chatting, content continuation, polishing, and translation.
• Supports image hosting: upload images to your image host and convert them to Markdown image links.
• Supports HTML and Markdown conversion: copy content from browsers and automatically convert it to Markdown format.
• Supports outlines, mathematical formulas, mind maps, charts, flowcharts, Gantt charts, sequence diagrams, staff notation, multimedia, text-to-speech, heading anchors, code highlighting and copying, Graphviz rendering, and PlantUML diagrams.
• Supports real-time local saving, auto-syncs 10 seconds after you stop editing, and history rollback.
