Why we built No-Write Notes As a self-confessed academic underachiever, Pony never had any interest in studying, let alone taking notes. He didn't take notes in school, and didn't pick up the habit after entering the workforce either: while his newly hired colleagues had already collected several notebooks from HR, Pony was still only halfway through his first one. But as people age, especially after the pandemic, Pony's once impressive memory declined sharply. Sometimes he would forget what he wanted to say right as the words reached his lips, so he was forced to start taking notes. But taking notes was a painful chore for Pony. He couldn't look up reference materials and take notes at the same time, which hurt his work efficiency, but he would forget to record important information later even if he didn't forget, he still had to set aside extra time just for note-taking. One sleepless late night, Pony suddenly had a eureka moment, shouted "I am the master of my own fate", and the idea for No-Write Notes fell from the sky. From then on, he never had to worry about writing notes again. Why No-Write Notes? As mentioned above, Pony's core goal was to build a note-taking app that lets you record anytime, anywhere without lifting a finger to write. It's a "best of both worlds" product, so the "no writing" feature is the top priority. Pony chose to solve this problem with technology. From core content extraction algorithms, to selected text collection and clipboard notes, these basic features are just the tip of the iceberg. More "no writing" usage scenarios will be added in the future, so stay tuned... But is that really the end goal? Why do we take notes, why do we record? If we only achieve "no writing" for input, we only complete the note itself. But the purpose of taking notes isn't just recording, it's to help us remember, to act as a second brain. So what's next for Pony...? Never mind, I've said too much, just stay tuned...
