When I use my Mac for work, I love switching apps to full-screen mode, but looking up information can be a hassle, especially when I need to use large language model Q&A, as constant interface switching is so frequent. So I developed this small floating tool that sits on top of full-screen app interfaces, which you can quickly show or hide via keyboard shortcuts or by clicking the menu bar icon. Current features:
- File browsing In addition to regular viewing and opening of folder contents, it also supports preview and drag-and-drop.
- When writing documents, you can preview any PDF anytime without shrinking your window;
- In full-screen browser mode, you can drag files via Duck Float to upload files or download images.
- Text temporary storage & file linking Drag files from different folders here to create links for quick access to files in different paths. You can also paste temporary text here for editing and copying.
- Clipboard history Records clipboard content, displays it by content type, and supports text search.
- Web browsing You can call up Duck Float to browse the web with one click from any full-screen app, which is super convenient.
