The core function of High Internet Cost is to help users track and count their online time, including:
- Track website runtime
- Track users' browsing time on different websites and visit counts
- Track the time users spend reading local files
- Track users' online habits across different time periods
- Support custom rules to limit daily browsing time for specified websites
It also offers the following additional features:
- Support setting website whitelists to filter out sites that do not need to be tracked
- Support merging statistics for multiple domains, with customizable merging rules
- Support data export and import
- Support dark mode
All data is stored locally and will not be shared with any third parties.
The extension also provides optional data synchronization solutions. It currently supports manually backing up data to GitHub Gist, as well as aggregated queries of backed-up multi-device data. It supports backing up data to Gist, remotely querying backed-up multi-device data, and dark mode.
