BabelABC (BabelABC.com) is a web app for learning English through TV shows and movies. It supports single-sentence looping, with full adjustment options such as slower playback for your first watch. For subtitles, you can choose no subtitles, English only, Chinese only, both, or hide subtitles on the first loop of a sentence and only show them on replay — there's a combination that works perfectly for you. Click any word in the subtitles to look it up, and it will be automatically added to your vocabulary book. When reviewing words, you can jump directly to the corresponding scene. Once you are familiar with the plot after multiple watches, you can enable Active Mode: Chinese subtitles are displayed before each dialogue, and playback resumes after a set delay. During the pause, you can think of the corresponding English on your own and compare it with the upcoming content. This method aligns better with the brain's memory model than passive learning, helping you speak English fluently in no time.
